A reported fire on the 88th floor of a New York City skyscraper being built at the Ground Zero site is likely a false alarm, the Associated Press reports.

Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which owns the site, says the fire report was called in by a member of the public this morning and is believed to be a false alarm

The report was thought to be related to welding at the building, known as One World Trade Center, the AP reports.
Update at 8:43 a.m. ET: NBC4 New York, quoting fire officials, reports that 90 firefighters responded to the scene.
Original post: The fire department says the fire was reported shortly before 8 a.m. ET at One World Trade Center in Manhattan and emergency workers are on the scene, the Associated Press reports.
Authorities say there are no reports of injuries.
