Sex shop in Aberystwyth Closes due to Lack of People into that Kind of Thing.

Aberystwyth’s only licensed sex shop has closed its doors with the loss of two jobs, amid claims by one trader that there “wasn’t much of a market” for it. Nice ‘n’ Naughty, on Pier Street, has attracted controversy for its imaginative shop window displays and saucy merchandise ever since it

opened a decade ago.

A sign in its window now refers customers to its online operation. Eve Egerton, manager of The Cabin cafe across the road, said: “To be honest, I’m quite sad because the way they did the shop window display wasn’t overtly sexual, it was quite comical.

“I don’t think they had much in the way of trade. We used to have a laugh when we saw people going there - you used to have elderly couples going up and having a peer through the window.

”Trish Murray, Director of Nice N Naughty, said: “We couldn’t sustain the business, it wasn’t profitable. “Maybe people in Aberystwyth just aren’t that kinky, who knows?”
